1,600 tons diverted from landfill
In 2021 Commercial Moves Group have identified more than 1500 desks, pedestals, chairs and cabinets to go to recycle. Each was stripped down to its bare components; metal, wood and plastics. This equated to over 1,600 tons of recyclable materials being diverted from landfill.

Case study

DenburnHouse / Lloyd’s Register

With Lloyd’s Register acquisition of Senergy, this saw the migration of staff from their Denburn House facility to Prime 4 in Kingswells. Commercial Moves Group were tasked with the total clearance of redundant furniture product from Denburn House and to ensure the product was reused where possible or segregated into its raw components to ensure diversion from landfill. With the majority of furniture nearing the end of its working life, it was clear this was a project to strip the majority of the furniture and ensure the most ethical disposal methodology.

The Denburn House Facility comprised of 5 floors of office furniture with approximately 600no workstations, operators chairs, meeting room furniture, storage and electrical items for recycling, redistribution or disposal. The work was completed over two weeks on time and within budget, with approximately 20% of the redundant product being redistributed through local charities and social enterprises.
